Toastmasters clubs sessions are structured in a way that almost all the attendants will somehow participate in the meeting, in different roles. Some will give speeches, others evaluate, others keep time, or look for grammatical errors, or lead the session. It as friendly and very interactive environment where you can train and improve your speaking skills.
We help you to improve your leadership skills
There are several managerial roles that you may take.
Besides public speaking, the clubs also have a leadership skills path that allows you to do things like organizing meetings, or coordinate clubs, or fill a managerial position in your own club.

Telma Alves
Club President
She has a graduation in Management. Has worked in IT for more than 20 years in several roles, from technical to managerial. she is a club member since 2017. What she likes the most in people, which is also her life's motto, is their sense of justice.

Vice President Membership
Graduated in economics with a MBA. Focused on management, operations, team-building leadership, motivation and communication. Has been doing volunteering work since 1986 to create impact and support the community. Joined the club in 2013 to improve her communication skills.
Bruno Afonso
Vice President Public Relations
A maths and biology teacher, he is into sustainability and co-founded the science communication project "Ar Respire Connosco". He joined Toastmaster to improve his leadership skills and also has improved his public speaking skills.

An MBA, Toastmasters veteran, one of the pioneers of Toastmasters in Portugal, with many years of experience in public speaking, and in the Toastmasters organization.

Club Secretary
Founder and first president of the Lisbon MBA Toastmaster Club, João Antunes is one of the oldest active Toastmasters. Since 2007 he had an active participation in the expansion of Clubs from north to south of the country. Has been an active member occupying several functions in the Club and in the organization, namely Area Governor and Division Governor. What motivates me? To have fun, and to always learn together.
